Loudest Stadium or moment for me
Being down at LSU in 03 when Mauck threw that Td pass late in the game, you would have thought that place would come off the hinges. That roar was clearly loud, but I am not sure in the 100 or so UGA games I have attended in the last 25 yrs that I have heard a stadium get as loud as Bryant Denny got in 2002 when a Bama defender took the ball away from Fred Gibson to give Bama a lead late in the 4th qtr. Of course it was quiet when lil ol Billy Bennett kicked a fg to win the game!!!!!!!!

Clearly Tim Tebow has gotten all the pub for the last 2 years in the SEC and Knowshon Moreno will be a legit Heisman candidate next year. If Percy Harvin can remain healthy he can be a top 10 NFL pick. I will step out and pick two players that I feel will LEGIT superstars by Nov 1st next year.
1) Eric Berry- I know he already has some pub, but not on the national level. Berry will be a 1st team All American type kid next year. To start in the SEC and be as physical as he was made every UGA fan cringe thinking of what could have been. Berry was a big time hitter as much as he was a cover corner. He will only be better next year.
2) AJ Green- I am very high on Julio Jones, I am just not sold on John Parker Wilson getting him the ball enough next year. Takes me back to Aj and his role at UGA. He will have a seasoned QB with arm that could be the best in the nation. Mike Bobo has wanted someone that can stretch the field and is over 6 ft tall. If you could combine Kris Durham ( size) and Mikey Henderson ( speed) into one player UGA has it in AJ Green. At 6′4″ with hands and speed to burn Green will burst on the scene early in the season and will never look back. Teams will not be able to double him due to Massaquoai being opposite of him. AJ Green in single coverage has got some DC’s in the league already losing sleep

Pre Spring SEC ratings
1) Georgia- All the hype, but a murderous schedule
2)LSU-Until they are dethroned they deserve at least no 2
3)FLA- If Tebow cant play 12 games healthy, they wont be this high
4)Aub- New OC,DC. They have recently done well as underdogs.
5)TN- Alot riding on Crompton and New OC
6)BAMA-Key games are Clemson( Atlanta) and at Arkansas. Lose those two and it could get ugly for the Tide
7)SC- Garcia could be a superstar in the making, but can SS be patient enough to develop him
8)MS ST- Croom wins and he does it the right way
9) Arky- If Mallet is cleared to play this year, watch out for Petrino
10)Kentucky-Pretty good athlete’s on defense, can they get enough play from the qb position is key
11)Ole Miss- Nutt can win 8 games here. But not this year, unless Snead is better than I think
12) Vandy- tells you how deep SEC is, because Vandy would beat least 5 ACC teams

I am so sick of hearing about 45 yr old baseball player trying to save his reputation. Gas is 3.50 a gallon. Can we not get the CEO of Exxon into Washington and ask him about the size of his Christmas bonus? Nobody cares about steriods in baseball other than ESPN and Bob Costas. The hitters were taking it and the pitchers were taking it, it all seems equal to me!!!! Sorry I had to get that one of my chest for the night!!!!

To my knowledge it started at Penn St about 10-12 yrs ago. Texas soon followed and now UGA has come full circle. Offering Junior kids and have them committed before their senior year. 10 years ago in Athens no Junior in the state would hold a written offer even before basketball season of his Junior year was over. UGA may be 90% done by May of this year with there 09 class. What has this done to the kids in school? It has basically done away with your Senior year and made your Sophomore year a year where a kid must produce stats or prove he has a upside. Long gone are the days of having a coach come by to check out a few home games in your Senior year. This has also increased the pressure on the coaches to make a decision much earlier in a kids development. Coaches salaries have nearly double in the last 10 years, however it is decisions they make with 15-16 yr old kids that will determine if they keep those high paying jobs.

UGA has VERY LIMITED numbers at this point. After making a call today it seems UGA has 16 scholly’s at this point to give and already has 5 commits toward this class. UGA is hard after 2 out of state kids right now. QB Tom Savage of PA and Tana Patrick LB from Ala. So lets say UGA gets these two, that means UGA will only be able to sign 9 more kids. Even if UGA gets what they want with those 9 places that leaves alot of kids in the talent rich state of Georgia. I think the two heavy hitters in the state of Georgia next year will be Florida and Alabama. Auburn lost alot of muscle when Will Muschamp left to go to Texas. Urban Meyer did not do himself any favors by dropping the Savannah kids in the last month of recruiting season. I am sure his name will be hot topic at coaching clinics and camps this summer. I can assure you he did Florida NO FAVORS from what he did. That leaves Alabama and Alabama has something that Auburn once had. A Ga alum with many connections in the state. Rodney Garner has put a fence around the state of Ga in the last 6 years with most of the top recruits. Nobody has been able to get into the Peach state and get multiple players that UGA has recruited in several years. But Alabama has Kirby Smart and Kirby Smart has the connections and the high school coaches in the state love him. He will be able to do some real damage in the Peach State next year. He doesnt have to beat UGA on many kids, there will be plenty left after UGA is out of schollys to give. Auburn, Tech and Clemson will fight over the scraps, but look for Bama to make some ground next year in recruiting Georgia kids.

Taking a look at OOC games in 08
Ohio State has lost alot of national points with the national media in the last 2 years in NC games. After taking two MAJOR beat downs on the big stage Ohio State will have a chance to gain alot back in one game. The second game of year Ohio St will travel to LA to play a power house in USC Trojans. If Ohio State can walk into LA and come out with a win, it will not only go long way for Ohio St it will go long way for the Big 10. Ohio St has over 16 returning starters and a veteran team that can handle the pressure, but the question is can they handle the speed of USC?
Auburn at West Virginia will be a very interesting game. Pat White is a Alabama native and will no doubt do his best to show up his home state. Auburn who will have 16 returning starters on their team is also breaking in a new OC and DC which will make this trip even more difficult. Auburn in the past has done well when flying under the radar. With UGA, LSU and UF getting all the pub will the Tigers find a way to get to the dome? A trip to Morgantown and a hostile crowd will go a long way in telling the tale on Auburn’s season.

Fans of FSU and Miami swear they are back and will return to the national picture soon. Again the site is my opinion, but I dont think Randy Shannon( who can recruit, but so could Jim Donnan) can win at Miami. Bobby Bowden has not been involved in a game plan meeting in 5 yrs, made a move this year to hand the keys over to Jimbo Fisher. I am not sure he can get them back to where they have been. Both of these schools can get back quickly if the coaching is right because the resources and the amount of talent in the state.
I think that two teams that kind of are under the radar on the national scene that may make a jump in the next years to be a serious threat in the NC race are Clemson and South Florida. Now before you fly off the handle about Clemson, I know they have a tendency to fold down the stretch. However I think somebody will step up in the ACC and Clemson who recruited well this year can win the ACC and may be able to get into the big game with a 11-1 record and ACC champs. Teams like VT,Clemson need to make a move while FSU and Miami are clearly down. GT , Wake, Boston College are teams that will not able to make the jump into the big picture from the ACC.
South Florida is a team that reminds me of West Virginia before Pat White. South Florida is more athletic team than WV and really only needs that one superstar player to get them through some games. Big East has proved it can play with the big boys and South Florida is looking like a sleeping giant with all that talent in the state to choose from. South Florida clearly choked this year being ranked no 2 at one time. I think the experience of playing under pressure and playing in big games the last 2 years will benefit them in the coming years.

I could see it around my work place with the Aub fans and Lsu fans in the office. Saban made a statement today that Bama is trying to get back and get back quickly. Alabama destroyed Aub in the state recruiting. Julio Jones is a superstar in the making and will play from day one. Auburn is good enough program to sustain one class like this, but they will have to win some battles next year vs Saban and staff or this series will turn quickly and turn 100% in the tide’s favor.

I am eating a big ol piece of humble Clemson pie today with Dwayne Allen. First off congrats to Clemson and staff for staying after this young man and being able to. sign him. Also I wanted to say congrats to UGA staff for reeling in another top 10 class. UGA and USC are the only schools to have this since 2002. UGA did nothing today but add depth to a already stacked roster. No recruit will come on campus with the hype like Summerville SC receiver AJ Green. Green will be only signee that has a legit chance to start from day one. However several kids in this class will play and will be counted on to play early.
